Ingredients

  • 2 thick cut pork chops
  • 3-4 potatoes
  • BBQ seasoning
  • vegetable oil
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder

Directions

  1. Begin by pre-heating the Flat Top by turning the burners to low heat and allow 10-15 minutes for proper heating.
  2. As the Flat Top heats, clean the potatoes and chop into coins. (Thin potato coins will turn into a crispy potato chip, thicker coins will be a softer, crisp circular fry- Choose your favorite!) Place potato coins into a large bowl and drizzle with vegetable oil. Stir until coated and add your BBQ seasoning- stir again until coated. (We used Lama Licks "Oh BBQ Get What I Need") In a small bowl combine the seasonings. Season each side of the pork chops and set aside.
  3. When the Flat Top is heated, Add your coins to the Steelmade Flat Top in a single layer. (Like a bunch of little hamburger patties!) Leave a burner uncovered for the pork chops. Turn the burner heating the area of your pork chops to medium heat.
  4. After 8-10 minutes, place the pork chops on the open area of your Flat Top. Flip the potato coins.
  5. Once ten minutes is up, flip the pork chops. (There should be a perfect sear! If you don't have this, bump the temperature up a little!) Cook for another 10 minutes. Remove the potatoes and let cool while the pork chops finish cooking. (They make for a great snack while finishing up!)
  6. When the pork chops are cooked through, plate with a helping of delicious BBQ potato coins and enjoy!

Notes:

Don't want BBQ seasoning? Substitute for your favorite!
