Our standard Flat Top is designed for common 30" gas ranges with up to 5 burners. If you're unsure if your stove will work you are invited to send a photo and measurements to info@steelmadeusa.com and we can verify for you. Custom sizes are also available.
Heavy-Duty Construction
We use super-thick 3/16" steel on all of our standard Flat Tops that is over 50% thicker than competing griddles and nearly 4x thicker than typical pans or skillets. This larger thermal mass puts more heat into the food in less time for better sears and quicker cooking.
Stainless Steel Drip Tray
Every Flat Top includes a dishwasher-safe stainless steel drip tray that sits below the drain holes to collect drippings and make cleanup a snap.
Uniquely Designed Front Lip
The unique design of the front lip on the Steelmade Flat Top is part of the secret sauce that makes cooking on a griddle so special. What seems like a bold design choice actually creates critical airflow to keep food from getting soggy while providing easy access to the food when cooking. The front of the Flat Top features a small 5 degree break to prevent accidental spills without interfering with any of the important features of our three-sided design.
Safe, Natural Non-Stick Cooking Surface
The seasoning process is literally the black magic of Flat Top ownership. If you've ever owned cast iron cookware, you're probably already familiar with the term. For the uninitiated, "seasoning" refers to a natural chemical reaction where oil and fat are heated to the point where they literally bake into the steel through a process called polymerization. This transforms the raw silver steel into a gorgeous black finish with amazing non-stick properties without the use of dangerous coatings like Teflon that only gets better with time.
Easy To Store
Our popular Cover Boards are competition-quality cutting boards available in Maple or Walnut custom manufactured to fit securely on top of the Flat Top. This provides an attractive cover for storing when not in use and doubles as an extra large prep space when cooking!

Custom Engraving Now Available!
We are excited to announce that customizable laser engraving is now available for Cover Boards. To get your new Cover Board engraved please visit this link and select the size board you are ordering. This will display a number of designs that can be customized with your personal info entered on the product page. Custom Engraving must be purchased at the same time as your Cover Board.
The Steelmade Flat Top is compatible with standard 30" gas ranges with a minimum 19" of cooking area depth. This Flat Top is not compatible with in-counter cooktops - we offer custom Flat Top designs for those applications.

This product is not compatible with glass ceramic stoves - we have different kits available for those here. The drip tray sits underneath the Flat Top and requires just 1/2" of clearance below the top of the range heating elements on electric coil stoves.

On gas ranges with removable grills, there are two options for positioning the drip tray. First, you can leave the center grate installed and simply place the drip tray underneath as shown in the photo below. To keep your grate clean you can prevent drippings from touching the grate by putting a little piece of tin foil around the small part of the grate that sits directly underneath the drain holes. Alternatively, you can remove the center section of grate entirely.
